I agree with this. I can't think of a use-case where describing text/gemini formatting within a text/gemini document will need to be so flexible so that what Luke suggests won't work. Even if we implemented complex quoting rules, it's simply impossible to round-trip example documents in their own markup. 

Besides, I think marking examples with ``` is useful because it essentially quotes the enclosed content as an example, as opposed to actual content. If you want to copy-paste Gemini content easily, just don't filter the content before passing it on to the client.

Maybe if a specific use-case could be given to where quoting would be important?
