Or basic use for that matter.

Gemini's narrative is build upon the fallacy that everything is "just-oh-so-trivial": any Dick and Jane can fire up the most bare bone of telnet over their trusty dial-up modem and be done. Some sort of citizen-programmer-publisher nirvana, without any barriers to entry whatsoever. 

Admirable.

But not quite practical. The internet stack is deep, old, and brittle. Tooling matter. 

Still, all very admirable :)
