Interesting, I wanted to unsubscribe for quite a while due to all the 
often rude technical back-and-forths and I found this quite pleasant and 
worth reading for a change. Silly things, banter and what people in these 
circles often call "offtopic" builds community, which is perhaps even 
more important than the endless technical details of the spec or 
software.
