[tech] Mail client as Gemini browser?

Emacs, mutt, aerc, … users will probably smile at the following thought …

I wondered whether it might be fun to have a Thunderbird plugin for 
browsing Gemini content.

Readers could thus mail comments to the content authors from within the 
same client – with some wall.cgi comments could go online seemlessly?

Still, I would not really want Thunderbird to be a browser, wondering 
about its many features like chat, twitter, etc. while neglecting CardDAV.
