While I think something like that would be cool to see (and at least as
a starting point it would be nice to have an archive in the
gemini-space, I'd love that), I'm not terribly convinced it may be a

Emails were here for a long time, and lots of tooling already exists.  I
doubt we, as a community, we'll be able to build in a decent amount of
time an environment where everyone can host a personal "gemBB" server,
send messages to a list, receive (which includes filtering amongst
various other things) and forward messages.

(part of why "email is hard" is to try to guarantee a certain level of
quality in a decentralised environment where everyone can set up its own
smtp server)

Just my thoughts of course :)
