Very unfortunate move, for the wrong reasons, with unfortunate consequences.

DKIM+DMARC+SPF configuration quirks aside -and ignoring the reality that all/most other mailing lists do seem to manage just fine- assuming this list is a DISCUSSION list, replies should go to the list.
